紐約自助行第二天好忙碌自由女神+自然歷史博物館+還有時代廣場!!!
NY Trip Day 2: Statue of Liberty+AMNH+Time Square!!!



因為第二天的行程太滿 (又不想要因為字數多被咖掉)
所以分兩篇寫喔!!!
Our schedule was too tight on day 2, so I'll blog about it in two posts.



第二天一大早
就趕著搭地鐵到"South Ferry" 站換搭渡輪
出站後走一小段  過個馬路  就是Battery Park (砲台公園)囉

The second day in NY started early in the morning.
Hopped on the metro and got off at "South Ferry"
Battery Park, where the harbor is, is a walking distance from the station.





一進Battery Park
就可以看到這顆破損的大銅球
雙子星大樓被轟炸前
這顆重達22公噸的銅球就被放在當時的廣場上
911後被挪至砲台公園 

The 22-ton damaged bronze sphere can be seen in the park.
It used to stand in the World Trade Center Plaza before 911.
Now it's the centerpiece of Battery Park.





繼續走
就會看到這個很像古代矮城牆的紅磚牆
裡面就是渡輪售票處  還有上船的小港口

The ticket booth for Statue Cruise ferry is located behind the red-brick wall.
So does the boarding harbor.




成人票一張美金17塊
想要最聰明又省時
就是提早在網路上買好船票  然後列印下來
來到這裡就不用排隊買票 (暑假旺季人真的很多)

上船前還要通過安檢
安檢就在這個船港旁的小帳棚內

The cruise ticket is $17 for each adult.
Purchase tickets earlier online is more time-saving and makes your life easier.
Passengers need to pass security screening in the tent before they board the ferry.




上船囉  超級興奮!!
去看自由女神   可從曼哈頓或紐澤西上船
曼哈頓就是從砲台公園這裡的港口坐船
沿途會經過自由女神島---->愛莉絲島----->最後回到砲台公園

On board!!!!! Yay
You can start your cruise from either New Jersey or Manhattan.
The route of the Manhattan
starts from Battery Park Harbor----->Liberty Island---->Ellis Island---->finally back to the Battery.





最上層的甲板早就坐滿滿
天氣超級熱  
但是為了一睹自由女神的風采  大家還是願意擠在一起熱呼呼哈

Seats on the upper deck were almost full when we headed up.
The enchanting charms of Lady Liberty was unbeatable for sure LOL.




甲板上還可以欣賞曼哈頓的城市風景  好愜意阿~
On the breezy deck you can enjoy a fantastic scenic city view of Manhattan.




快到了快到了!
We are almost there!!




自由女神島到囉!!
The Liberty Island!!!






因為時間有限
我們只有和自由女神(Lady Liberty)拍拍照   還有在紀念品店逛得很開心
其實島上還有開闊的草地可以散步   沿途還有海景可以欣賞
但天氣實在太熱了!  走沒幾步就奔進紀念品店消暑

因為911的關係
自由女神的內部參觀tour在去年10月就宣布關閉
要進行長達一年的安全維修和檢測
計畫2012年底左右會重新開放

We took pictures with Lady Liberty and shopped in the souvenir store.
No strolling on the grass or walking along the harbor cause it's way to hot. 

The interior tour of Statue of Liberty has been closed after 911
since last Oct. for a year-long security renovation.
The grand reopen will be later this year. 





結果暑假期間自由女神也在施工
拍照還要抓吊車轉開的瞬間  (吊車實在太搶鏡哈)

The crane truck was so annoying.

可愛的平平還帶著她的胡迪一起來紐約
My cute little sis brought her Woody with us.






隔壁的阿嬤團看到胡迪也開心得不得了 哈哈
Our Woody really entertained the grandmothers next to us.

自由女神紀念品店也很好逛喔
怎麼蓋得好像樣品屋
進去前早就擠滿了人
雖然紀念品種類超多  單價也都蠻高 
但好多都做得很精緻越看越喜歡耶

We flocked into the souvenir shop to cool down a little bit.
There were plenty of cute stuff, though the price was sort of disappointing sometimes.





自由女神芭比!!! 喜歡嗎喜歡嗎?

來紀念品店我最喜歡買馬克杯還有吸鐵
總覺得以後有自己的家  可以裝飾家裡  一邊回憶以前去過的地方
可愛的縮小版模型我也好像買喔  但是好貴下不了手

Mugs and magnets are my favorite gifts.
I always think of decorating my future house with these souvenirs bought from every trip.
Wanna buy the miniature lady liberty replica so bad....but the price scared me away.




最後我買了這個精緻的馬克杯還有鑰匙圈 (超級喜歡!!!)
喜歡怪怪小物的我妹買了右邊的發條玩具
(好啦動起來好像真的蠻好笑的)

I bought this fancy mug at the end.
My little sis who loved weird stuff got this green clockwork lady liberty toy lol.








逛完紀念品
趕快接著上船前往愛莉絲島  參觀美國移民博物館

The next stop was the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island.





移民博物館的所在地
就是從前19, 20世紀時的移民潮   大批移民初次踏上美國大陸的門戶
這裡又是一個充滿歷史的地方
走完一圈你會對當年的時代背景有更深的了解

Here is the main point of entry for newcomers to America during 1892-1954.
The historical museum now tells the stories to tourists from all over the world.





你能相信現在大約40%的美國人
他們當年的祖先都是從這邊   踏上美國開展新生活的嗎?
當年好可愛的小小孩
現在都是老阿公老阿嬤了

40% of the Americans' ancestors passed through this immigration center
to start their brand new life.
The little boys and girls in the pictures have become grandparents now.




除了有有趣的照片可以回顧
還有展示當時顯赫家族的遺物  包含衣服  廚房用具等等
沒想到以前人也這麼有穿衣時尚哈哈  (過膝靴做得比現代的還美)

Apart from pictures taken in the old days,
I love the showcases displaying antique stuff used by the rich families back then.
Entirely stunned by the fashion taste they had,
especially the fancy dresses and the chic over-the-knee boots!!!

館內還有播放紀錄片
Documentary films were also shown in the theater.





天氣這麼熱穿長裙來真是對了   防曬又涼爽 哈哈
但最後還是受不了  一邊排隊上船一邊吃冰淇淋
離開充滿移民故事的博物館 
下一站是好新奇+眼界大開的自然歷史博物館
要繼續收看喔!!!!

Wearing a  long skirt cooled me down for the whole day,
but I couldn't help grabbing an ice-cream as we headed back.
The next stop is the AMNH, savory burger shop and Time Square.
