[Travel]高空跳傘第一次跳機就上手 Skydive at Lake Elsinore

今年夏天達成了我的高空跳傘夢
Do you dare to JUMP?!
以前台灣好像比較不流行跳傘這種東西 (可能因為這個活動有點恐怖....)
看別人在國外跳傘的照片都哇~哇~哇~~~的   想說有機會一定要體驗一下
來加州後發現這個極限運動(算"極限運動"嗎?)   其實蠻普遍的   很多地方都有專業的跳傘活動
趁著這次暑假找了一天來位於LA東南方    開車約一個半小時的Lake Elsinore   一圓我們的跳傘夢
Skydive has been on my check list.
We are so thrilled to make it happen this summer at Lake Elsinore.
It's about one hour and a half drive from downtown LA.

第一次來Lake Elsinore
跳傘的地點是在一個比較偏遠有大片平地的野外
First time at Lake Elsinore. Here is like a wilderness with a few cottages.

高空跳傘就是用小飛機    把你載到一定高度的空中
然後初學者身後會有一個教練的陪伴一起跳出飛機享受自由落體的速度感
上機前會有簡單的訓練包含跳傘注意事項怎麼跟教練配合等等
關於費用有興趣的人可以參考他的網頁 Skydive Elsinore (點我)
簡單來說個人跳傘分為兩種   純粹跳傘而已($189未稅) 或是加上一位隨身幫你補捉精彩畫面的攝影師 (拍照+錄影 $279未稅)
跳傘沒有年齡上限 (我也蠻驚訝!!) 他們說只要身體健康人人都可以跳
果然這天就看到好幾個    看起來至少有6 70歲的阿罵也來跳而且看起來一點也不害怕耶好強!
A small plane will take you up to a certain height.
Newbies will have a instructor jumping with you from the cabin.
$189 for tandem jump only, and $279 includes a camera man videotaping and taking photos for you.

There is no age limitation for skydive, whoever is healthy is qualified to jump and enjoy the free fall. WOW!!!

我們是先網路預約
當天早上一到就到櫃檯check-in 填基本資料還有簽有點令人緊張切結書哈哈哈
切結書的部分最後一段話(若有意外自行負責...) 他們還會請你念出來一邊錄影存證
填完後量完身高體重就到隔壁小房間看簡短的教學影片
We booked our skydive online.
Checked in as we arrived and filled out some forms.
The front desk will also videotape you reading the last few sentences about a waiver of liability.
A short training video was played after that.

看完教學影片
就要到另一個小木屋穿戴裝備
After the training video, we entered another cottage to put on all the gears needed for the jump.

穿好後就有專人帶我們到模擬實際大小的機艙門旁邊
練習怎麼用正確的姿勢預備還有跳出機艙
訣竅就是蹬出機艙的剎那身體要向後彎成弓形 (越彎越好)
然後頭要向後靠著教練的肩膀可能是因為這個姿勢可以順著氣流向外飛吧
Then we came to a real-sized plane exit door, practicing how to jump out of the cabin with the right body position.
You need to arch as you dive out and place your head backward against the shoulder of the coach behind you.
I guess this is because that way our body will go with the air flow better.

我的攝影大哥Andy是個人來瘋他的頭髮很長又有點QQ所以當天紮了個俏麗的包頭

結果上機前還真的有點緊張
I got even more nervous before we boarded. LOL

有沒有像勇士出征!!! (兩位小姐現在還笑得很開心哩~)
旁邊跟著的是我們的教練
We are like warriors YEAH. LOL

上機後為了要轉移緊張的感覺趕快欣賞美麗的風景
話說看下去真的很美
I tried to focus on seeing the beautiful views and not thinking about the scary height. LOL
The view from here was really spectacular.

我梳著整齊油頭的教練Cliff人真的超有耐心超細心 (小腿上還有性感的大刺青)
他不停的提醒我小細節還有跟我練習跳出去的tempo
My instructor, Cliff.
He is so detail-oriented and patient. I feel 100% safe and confident while flying with him.

等飛機飛到一定的高度後教練會請你把護目鏡帶好檢查背帶有沒有繫緊
接著雙腳坐上教練的大腿 (沒錯是大腿!! 哈) 一組一組大家分別往出口方向移動
然後大家就像下水餃一樣咚咚咚的輪流跳出去囉 Woohoo~
輪到我之前我的攝影師Andy就先攀在機艙外等候開始錄我緊張到僵硬慘綠的臉哈哈哈
I put on my goggle as the plane reached a certain height.
The instructor double checked if the belts and stuff are tightened enough and ready.
Then I sat on the laps of my coach lol and we moved toward the exit one by one.
My camera man Andy was ready and stayed outside as I approached the exit.

到出口後要成單腳跪姿勢 (跟求婚一樣)
然後教練一邊倒數 3 2 1 一邊前後擺動(向盪鞦韆一樣)
讓兩人的Tempo一致才可以同時跳出機艙
(有沒有看到Andy向外奮力一躍時有多冷靜就像喝水一樣輕鬆的感覺.....太恐怖了)
現在回來看這張照片我還會起雞皮疙瘩耶阿哈哈好誇張
Then we counted down 3, 2, 1 as we swung to and fro and then dived out of the plane together at the same timing.
FREEFALL~~~~~~~!!!!!!
Do you see how calm my camera man was as he let go of the grip and dived with us!!!!?? That's insane!!!!

LOL I became so tiny.

開傘了!! 呼~~
Parachute was opened! Phew~

其實真正自由落體freefall 只有50幾秒到約一分鐘
And this was how it looked like down here. LOL
The free fall was merely 50-ish seconds.

上機前攝影師還不停提醒要看鏡頭
不然頭低低的都沒有特寫了
Trying hard to search and look at the camera to say HI LOL

其實我以前都不敢坐遊樂園裡面的自由落體 (像大怒神)
因為我很怕心臟很浮的那種感覺
但良心講我覺得跳傘真的沒有那麼恐怖
我的狀況就是剛跳出去的幾秒心臟真的有點浮有點不舒服的感覺但真的就只有很短的幾妙
之後就無限順暢還有驚艷景色有多美了!!!
I am always not a fan of free fall rides at any amusement parks.
Coz I don't like the awful heart pain when I fall from a high place.
But honestly skydive for me was not that bad....I only felt a bit heart pain as I stepped out of the plane for few seconds.
And after that, everything was awesome and enjoyable.

中間我還一度興奮到忘了呼吸哈哈哈哈
然後張開嘴的話口水應該是會亂飛沒錯但我那天上機前其實是狂流鼻水所以.....

During the free fall, I was too excited to breathe for a few seconds. LOL
People said your saliva will be everywhere if you open your mouth...
Well, but I had a pretty bad running nose that day, so..... LOL

我的室友Xenia就接在我後面
我覺得他的camera man蠻會拍照捕捉了很多整個全景的照片還有人與外在環境的呼應照
我跳完緊接著就換她了
My Roomie Xenia was right after me. I love the pics her camera man took.

這張拍的蠻美不過也真的蠻恐怖的....

跳傘真的很好玩耶!
回去跳第二次還有很不賴的優惠喔

今年夏天清涼的Palm Springs小旅行 第一次住這麼繽紛有趣的度假飯店!!

盼了好久終於有機會來Palm Springs   荒漠中的綠洲度假勝地
這裡最著名的   除了有南加世界有名的的Cochella音樂盛會
也有許多設施完備的度假飯店   很多人來這裡玩一個週末
一整天待在飯店裡游池旁   游泳看書發呆都好   度過難得的悠閒時光
不要看天空這麼清徹這麼藍夏天的白天   可是有超過攝氏40的高溫又乾又熱考焦程度   跟Vegas有得比了

Palm Springs離LA downtown開車大約兩個小時
來玩得這天其實我們早上剛去skydive(高空跳傘)
跳傘一直在我的checklist上終於在這天達成夢想太開心了
之後會po介紹文喜歡極限運動的女孩請繼續follow
It's a 2-hr drive from LA downtown.
We went skydive in the morning and then headed over to Palm Springs.
My very first skydive experience (checked) will be the next post, stay tuned!

這次住的度假飯店很繽紛趕快來看看
這間叫"The Saguaro" 取名Saguaro是因為resort就位於Sonoran沙漠
所以以沙漠裡最具代表性的巨型的仙人掌 "Saguaro" 來命名
The resort we stay this time is really my cup of tea coz it's way too colorful.
The Saguaro is named after the iconic cactus in the Sonoran Desert covering Arizona, Cal and partial Mexico area.
The Saguaro belongs to Joie de Vivre who owns many boutique hotels and resorts all over the States.

Saguaro是 Joie de Vivre 飯店集團底下的度假飯店 Joie de Vivre 的意思是"joy of life"
Arizona州的Scottsdale也有一間The Saguaro
Joie de Vivre means "joy of life."
Another The Saguaro is in Scottsdale, Arizona.

為了與環境更融合聰明又有創意的設計團隊
就以沙漠仙人掌花朵的12種不同顏色分別使用在客房的陽台房間還有公共設施上營造繽紛的歡樂氣氛
To make the resort more blended into the outdoor environment,
the creative and brilliant designers, famous for their bold use of color, instill local colors into the property.
They used a palette of 12 shades of the native desert wildflowers to adorn balconies, guestrooms and amenities.

一踏進這裡就有好熱帶的感覺到處都是色彩讓人眼睛一亮

Surprising vibrant colors are every where as we stepped in.
A sober beer bar El Jefe is right next to the reception desk.

Resort的特色就是每個房間有自己的顏色從外觀看起來每間陽台都是不同顏色的小格子
我好想要黃色或是粉色最後住到USC的代表紅色哈哈哈
後來才發現其實可以在訂房時試著指定妳想住的顏色
進來房間看看

Every guestroom has its own color, the colorful grids viewed from outside are so cute and cheerful.
Our room is passion red, like USC representative cardinal.
Here is the room interior.

房間裡很現代很新很簡單乾淨
很多擺設或傢俱都是從墨西哥手工訂做運來的風格很特別
Many of the room deco are handcrafted customized and shipped from Mexico. Entirely exotic.
Overall the room is quite spacious, modern, bright, and clean.

房間的空間很大床也夠大我喜歡
Love the big bed size and room space.

廁所也超繽紛 (尖叫)

陽台空間一點都不髒重點是這裡正對泳池的view超棒
Balcony is super clean and facing the pool. Great view from here.

進來的當天剛好有Pool party, 只看見泳池擠滿了人
There was a pool party in the afternoon when we checked in. So packed.

泳池沒有位子加上一早出發去跳傘實在太累所以第一天就先不游泳囉
We didn't join the pool party coz it's too packed and I was too exhausted after the morning skydive.

所以晚餐決定試試看網路上都推薦的飯店餐廳 Tinto
Tinto in the resort is highly recommended online, so we came down for dinner.

Tinto是美國有名廚藝大賽節目The Next Iron Chef 大廚Jose Garces開的
他的眉毛好濃好可愛
來這裡可以品嘗道地的西班牙南法Tapas料理
Tinto serves extraordinary and inspiring tapas created by The Iron Chef, Jose Garces.
Love his thick dark eyebrows.

晚上這裡有室內室外的坐位氣氛都很好
Great dining atmosphere for both indoor and outdoor tables.

Tapas就是西班牙式混合南法料理主要是開胃菜還有讓你小盤淺嘗的配酒菜
冷盤像是Cheese 橄欖或是熱盤炸小章魚等等適合一群朋友喝酒聊天
我們點的每一道都蠻好吃但是分量真的不多男生吃完應該會覺得胃很空虛哈哈哈
今天是我第一次吃真正的tapas 燉飯和waiter推薦的乾癟辣椒開胃菜都令我驚艷
This is my first time trying tapas cuisine.
The Fried Padron Peppers and Bomba Rice are amazing.
Good food but the small portion didn't really satisfy our appetite. LOL

隔天一大早趕快跑到泳池旁混一下
一進到泳池區一旁就有粉紅色大毛巾供房客使用
找一個喜歡的位子就可以開始補色囉 (我其實怕黑有偷擦防曬油) 哈
Cute pink towel is offered at the entrance of the pool area.

Saguaro的優點還有泳池夠大很多人一起在這裡也不會覺得很擠待不住
Love the large pool here.

在這裡肚子餓還可以向泳池畔的吧檯點餐點來吃
Feel free to order burgers from the bar next to pool.

現在終於知道為什麼外國人這麼喜歡pool party了
天氣雖然熱但是在洋傘底下喝杯飲料跳進泳池消暑就可以耗大半天了
Love the laid-back and slow poolside chilling time.

泳池裡的這隻天鵝真是太好玩小孩大人都跳上跳下的哈哈哈
The floating swan is snatched and ridden by kids and adults.

這個早晨真是太美好了
Wonderful beautiful morning.

泳池旁還有JACUZZI!!!! 昨天晚上有下來泡白天泡應該會熱暈
Jacuzzi !!!

這裡也很適合帶小孩來很多年輕爸媽拎著幾個月大的嬰兒來玩水
池畔還有各種大小的沙灘充氣球可以玩
Many young couples bring their little babies to the pool too LOL.

然後我們的球一直飛撞岸上曬太陽的美女們真的很不好意思阿哈哈哈哈

曬完太陽因為外面熱得誇張
我們取消了逛街的行程只到附近的景點拍拍照
來Palm Springs其實有一些戶外活動可以做健行坐纜車騎腳踏車等等
有名的精品outlet Desert Hills也在開車不太遠的附近回家的路上也有去走走
It's way too hot outside so we cancel our window shopping plan.
Outdoor activities in Palm Springs include biking, hiking and taking gondola to the mountain top.
We also check out the Desert Hills Premium Outlet on our way home.

喝完咖灰開車一分鐘就到下一個景點Forever Marilyn
來Palm Springs一定要來朝聖一下這個巨型瑪莉蓮夢露女神雕像2011年在芝加哥去年才被移到這裡
創作靈感就來自好萊塢攝影大師Bruno Bernard 幫瑪麗蓮夢露拍的飛揚裙擺照
Palm Canyon Drive上聽說有很多可愛古董小店可以逛 (這趟實在太熱了我沒去)
那邊也有類似像Hollywood一樣的星光大道瑪莉蓮夢露也在其中

Another must-see attraction here is Forever Marilyn, which used to be placed in Chicago and was moved to Palm Springs last year.
Inspired by the glamorous photo taken by Hollywood photographer Bruno Bernard,
the statue looks extremely realistic due to the detailed skin tone paint.
The Walk of Stars located on Palm Canyon Drive is similar to Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
You will find Marilyn and lots of vintage shops here.
